Overview
iLevelGolf's product requires software called
QuickTime to be installed on the user's computer. It is available for
Windows and MacOS based computers, is freely downloadable from the Internet
and contains the necessary QuickTime VR component and browser plug-ins.
We
have conducted research into various other technologies that may be
used, such as Java or Flash, and have concluded that QuickTime currently
offers the most stable and highest quality means of delivering our product.
Glossary
QuickTime
- software made by Apple Computer, for Windows and Macintosh operating
systems and suitable for the delivery of graphics, video, QuickTime
VR, audio and text in stand-alone fashion or over the web.
QuickTime
VR - an extension of QuickTime technology that allows users to interactively
explore and examine photo-realistic, three-dimensional environments
on a computer.
Node - a position in a QuickTime VR scene at which
a panorama can be viewed.
Multi-node
Scene - a collection of nodes linked to produce an interactive environment.
Hot spot - a defined area, within a node or multi-node scene,
which allows users to move between nodes and/or link between different
web pages.
Browser Plug-in - software that extends or enhances the capabilities
of a web browser.
